Welcome to North Midlands powerlifting

North Midlands Powerlifting Association is affiliated to the English Powerlifting Association (EPA) and represents the North Midlands division of the British Powerlifting (formerly Great Britain Powerlifting Federation (GBPF)), which is the nationally recognised governing body of drug-free Powerlifting in the UK. The North Midlands Division covers the counties of Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. All competitions are run to rules as laid down by the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF)- a copy of which can be viewed by clicking on the relevant link at the base of this page.

We have developed this website to help keep our members informed of the events in our division and also to provide information to anyone wanting to find out more about the sport of powerlifting. In designing this site, we have adopted a similar style to that of some of our fellow divisional sites to endorse consistency and have integrated many of their good ideas into our own site. We hope you find this informative and interesting and welcome any constructive feedback/comment to improve it for our members.

For new members and lifters entering a competition for the first time please see our FAQ section which hopefully provides some guidance when starting out in powerlifting. There are also useful links to the GBPF and EPA websites at the base of this page. We strongly recommend all our members familiarise themselves with the rules of powerlifting before competing.
